You know the annoying saying “Are we there yet?” When you are dealing with infertility, you feel like you are back in 1988 (just go with me here) and are asking every five minutes from the back seat “ARE WE THERE YET?”
Hours can feel like days and days can feel like years when you are waiting to hear PGS results, embryo growth reports or the much-anticipated Beta. It’s hard to hear “Just be patient” or “If it’s right, it will happen.” The whole topic of patience and waiting is very God based for me. Here is what the Lord has to say about waiting:
They who wait for the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles;
They shall run and not be weary;
They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
A song that I love listening to is Guns n Roses “Patience” probably because it says every two seconds the word “Patience.” Or maybe it reminds me of simpler times back in carefree high school. I am the first to tell you that I have absolutely no patience. Even with this song I am like hurry up and get on with it stop whistling! LOL I know crazy!!!
Maybe it’s from my high-intensity work ethic? Or maybe it’s my unrealistic expectations? I don’t know girls but what I do know is that life doesn’t always work on my time schedule. I had learned the hard way when I have forced certain situations in my life, and it never worked out to be positive. I have found that writing a blog helps me process my thoughts patience being at the top of the list. My community with you helps me understand that I am not alone or the only one that struggles with failure or patience.
I am practicing on a daily basis to understand there is an absolute life flow. I need to find that flow and stick with it. It’s much easier to swim downstream than upstream.
IVF #4 is starting for me this week in Colorado, and you know that each IVF cycle I go through I start it off with a Giveaway. To honor my IVF #4 cycle I found a beautiful OPI color called “Are We There Yet?” This was the perfect end of summer color to share with you girls because I know we are all dealing with patience. There will be two winners for this polish giveaway. Wear this color to remind yourself that there is a plan for your life. Even though we don’t know what it is at this very second like the song says, “It will work itself out just fine.” If you listen to this song, long enough you will have it engrained into your head, and you will be forced to think about patience all day long.
