Hi my name is Nikol, I am a professional makeup artist and beauty blogger. I created my company Fresh Beauty Studio in 2006 specializing in international bridal beauty. I am obsessed with my job, testing new beauty products, filming videos and creating gorgeous bridal hair and makeup. You can read more on my background by going to my website Fresh Beauty Studio.
I am officially starting this blog in December 2014 to document my journey through IVF and I am hoping that you will join me.
A little background on me. I married Ray in 2012 who is the love of my life (we have known each other since high school), my best friend and my number one supporter. We are obsessed with our little French bulldog, are foodies and love to travel.
We were diagnosed with “unexplained infertility” in 2013. I have had two failed IUI‘s in 2014, my first IUI was in April 2014 and my second IUI procedure with injectables was in October 2014. We moved on to IVF in January 2015 with a failed beta on February 6th, 2015. We went on to IVF #2 which introduced Lupron, we didn’t make it to transfer that cycle. IVF #3 looked amazing but ended in another failed cycle on June 16th, 2015. I was shocked at how many women I saw when I first visited a fertility clinic back in August of 2013 for our basic testing. I thought “This can’t be right? All these women are here for the same reason?” The more research I did, blogs I read and websites I found, the more I wanted to reach out to other women that were going through the same process that I was. This whole process can be a little confusing, stressful, and downright depressing. We decided after our third failed IVF cycle to get second opinions. We researched extensively and found Conceptions Pro in Denver, Colorado. We ended up doing two more IVF cycles one in September 2015 and one in November 2015. I am happy to report that these were my BEST cycles in my entire two years of infertility. We have two normal PGS tested embryos on ice and are extremely blessed to be transferring in early 2016.
*Update: Our first FET in February in Denver, Colorado with one of our PGS tested embryos was failed.
**October 14th, 2016 I had the laparoscopy surgery that I had been fighting to get from the very first failed IVF cycle. I had stage three endometriosis that was excised and three fibroids removed.
I was recently featured on Amateur Nesters blog detailing my story, you can read it HERE.
Going through fertility treatments is like a second job and it’s incredibly challenging. I created this blog to bring a little bit of myself to IVF through fashion, beauty, anything and everything positive and through videos. This blog is basically to keep me sane and to inspire and encourage other women that are also on their own fertility journey.
